How to arrive
Just arrived in Piombino, all you have to do is get on the ferry and travel the last stretch of sea that separates you from the Island of Elba. There are two ports where you can dock on the island: the port of Portoferraio (the most popular, with a navigation time of about 1 hour) and the port of Rio Marina (less frequented given the long winding road you need to reach the other locality, with a duration of about 40 minutes of navigation).
From PortoferraioIf you disembark at the port of Portoferraio, Lacona can be reached mainly by two roads:
- the shortest road is about 9 km long, with a journey time of about 15 minutes. On leaving the village of Portoferraio on the left, at the last roundabout in front of the sports fields, turn right and continue straight ahead. The road (not in perfect condition) will go up a hill and then descend and take you to our locality. Once in Lacona, at the end of the descent, you will find yourself at a small roundabout with a minimarket. Always go left (in the direction of Capoliveri) for about 1 kilometre; our entrance will be under the road, with a dirt square and the signs of the structure.
- the second road is about 12 km long, with a journey time of about 20 minutes. Always on the exit of the village of Portoferraio on the left, at the last roundabout in front of the sports fields, go straight for about 5 km; at the first big crossroads you find, turn right with indications for Lacona. The flat and panoramic road will take you to our locality. Our entrance will be under the road, with a dirt square and the signs of the structure (being on a covered curve, customers are advised to go around with the vehicle a little further on, and enter from the other direction).
